What does the Screw Compressor Floor Mounted Cabinet do?

Often referred to as ‘floor mount’ this is an acoustic cabinet that contains the motor and screw airend of a screw air compressor. This particular model (PhaZair-230 5.508) comes without the receiver (tank) and air dryer.

The cabinet houses the ‘K TRONIC 5’ electronic control unit, which manages all compressor functions and indicators. In other words, it can control: idling cycle, working hours, oil temperature, working pressure, and alerts. This technology solves a long standing issue by increasing the capacity for users who have only a single phase 230V power supply.

In what Situation would you need this Floor Mounted Cabinet?

When the floor mounts are sold separately from receivers, it is usually for a couple of different reasons. Firstly, these cabinets tend to be more popular if you need a higher output size. When that is the case, they are usually too big to sit on top of the receivers. Secondly, you may need have a vertical receiver placed a little way away from this screw compressor floor mounted cabinet due to issues with space in your garage or workshop.
