This is because they are fitted with a standard 13 amp domestic UK plug and can be used with a standard UK plug socket. In other words, these compressors are good to use either in workshops garages, or in home garages.

If you are new to the world of compressors it’s important to note that when using a 16 or 20 amp compressor, you cannot plug it into a standard UK wall socket. These compressors come with a 16 or 20 amp plug in the box, but you will need a separate 16 or 20 amp isolator & supply for these compressors to work. It really depends what you are using it for. If you spend a lot of time fixing up or spraying cars as a hobby for example, then a 200 litre compressor could be suitable for you. In that case, we would recommend a portable model. If you are looking for a compressor for general use at home, then we would recommend a smaller model. Take a look at our 50L, 100L or even 150L tank sizes.
Generally speaking, a compressor with a 200 litre receiver is used more for commercial use, such as in garages or professional workshops.
Although all of these compressors have the same tank (receiver) size, there is a big difference in power. The portable models have 13 amp plugs and can be plugged into standard UK sockets that you will find at home.
